My baby girl was born on this day 6 years ago. So in honor of her 6th year I would like to list 6 things about her.
1. She loves dogs, it is an obsession. If she can pick a toy, it will always be a dog of some sort. We have actually had to start to put a limit on the amount of stuffed animals she can have because they are taking over the house!
2. She is shy. Sometimes painfully shy. She will not talk on the phone, not even to Mike. It is just part of who she is. She does not want to be the person in the room that has all the attention. She just wants to observe for a while and then decide when to participate. But, if she knows you watch out because when she opens up she is funny! I love her silly sense of humor and feel honored that she allows me to be one of those that she is not shy around.
3. She could eat her weight in pizza. I have never seen a child that could eat that much pizza in my life. You would think she was a teenage boy getting ready for a football game. She gets it from Mike; I think pizza is how he survived college!
4. She is the bravest girl I know. Through all that has been done to her for her epilepsy, she has never complained. She always does what the doctor asks and never gives us trouble about taking her medicine (which she has taken everyday, 3 times a day for the past 2+years.)
5. She still sucks her thumb and carries a favorite blanket around the house. Her teacher did not even know that she sucks her thumb, so she does not do it at school. The dentist has told us she needs to stop of course. His solution was to put a tube sock over her hand. Um, Hello she is old enough to pull it off! Agree with me or not, I feel like she will stop when she is ready. And, if you saw her baby teeth before they fell out, it is almost a given she will be needing braces someday anyway. :) I just love watching her at night with her blanket over her head. Mike says he used to sleep the same way with a blanket over his head. We have never had problems with her wanting to go to bed and I'm not about to start them now by taking away her blanket or her thumb! So, if she wants to take that blanket to college with her, fine by me!
6. She loves to cuddle. I love every minute of it!
Happy Birthday baby girl, I love you!

Happy Birthday Autumn, sweet girl. Love your comment about the sock on the hand. She has certainly been a bright spot in our life these past six years. I wish she could stay little forever!
Love,

Aww, what a sweet post! I know what you mean about her shyness. Jeremy, who also just turned 6, is also really shy. Stubbornly so. But around us he opens up and can be quite a ham! It makes me feel special to get to be one of the ones to witness his humor.
Happy "late" birthday to Autumn! :) So, if our families ever go out for pizza, we'll have to make sure to get extra b/c Sidney too can eat her weight in pizza!! :) It's about the only meal I can count on no complaints!
Happy late birthday, Autumn! That was a really sweet post, Amy. Autumn is a beautiful little girl and she is blessed to have such a wonderful mommy!
