1st Day of School

Sleeping Beauty

Autumn cracked me up the other night. When I went to check on her before I went to bed, this is what I found. Her head was down at the end and her feet were on her pillow. Her belly was hanging out. I can't imagine getting that turned around while I was sleeping.

4th of July

We spent the 4th in MN at my Dad and step-mom's house. The weather was awesome! Autumn had a great time. It was a very nice and relaxing visit. We went to Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America, an aquarium, to see fireworks and a really great zoo!

So we are almost done with Kindergarten. This year has flown by and I can't believe how big Autumn is getting. Her teacher says she is doing great. She is reading and doing math and learning how to tell time. I am really excited about spending the summer with her. I miss my time with her. Here she is a couple of days ago with her back pack. She looks so big!

Stroll For Epilepsy

Cathy

As most of you know, Mike's mom went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 13th. We spent spring break in New Jersey to be there for the memorial and spend time with family. We wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and kind words. We will miss Cathy very much.

Cathy is in the hospital with trouble breathing. We are thinking about her and praying for her.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The daddy/daughter dance was at school on Friday. Autumn loved having a special date night with Mike. They showed me their moves when they got home.

Stroll for Epilepsy

Friends and Family,

As many of you may know, our daughter, Autumn, has been impacted by epilepsy.
Since she was 3 1/2 years old, seizures have been an ever
present part of her life. The Stroll for Epilepsy is a
great event (similar to the Susan G. Komen Race For the
Cure) designed to promote epilepsy awareness and raise
funds for programs directly benefiting those impacted
by epilepsy in the north Texas area. Funds raised
during the event go directly to the North Texas
chapter of the Epilepsy Foundation who in turn
sponsors local events and programs such as:.

   - Recreational camping programs for children,
teens, and adults with epilepsy.
   - Medical clinics throughout the region provide
accessible and affordable comprehensive medical care
for adults with epilepsy.
   - Community Education programs teach school
children, teachers, school nurses and school personnel
seizure recognition and first aid.
   - Job Tech Employment Program provides one-on-one
assistance empowering adults with epilepsy to secure
employment and develop independence.
   - Information and Referral provides accurate
epilepsy information and appropriate referrals to
community agencies.
   - Education Programs designed specifically for
school- aged children and school personnel.
   - General Public Education programs designed for
the community.
   - Information & Referral offers people with
epilepsy and their families referrals to sources of
assistance and free printed materials and videos about
epilepsy and seizure disorders.
   - Support Groups for parents of children with
epilepsy and adults with epilepsy.

There are four meaningful ways I would love to have
you contribute to the event:

4. Share. You may know friends, co-workers, or family
who are also impacted by epilepsy. Please pass this
information along to them so that they can participate or we
can get them in contact with the resources that the
Epilepsy Foundation can provide. 

I know there are countless numbers of quality
charities all vying for your support. I would humbly
ask that you consider supporting this event so that we
can continue to touch the lives of people in the north
Texas area effected by epilepsy.

Birthday Fun

For Autumn's birthday, instead of a party, we invited Maisy over for a couple of days. Autumn had tons of fun. They went to Build-a-bear, Barnes and Noble, Chuckiecheese and Baskin Robbins. It was great having someone for Autumn to play with. They funniest part was after we had put them on a blow up mattress to watch a movie, I overheard Autumn telling Maisy, "I'm trying to sleep and everytime you keep talking to me, I wake up!" It was funny! Autumn wants Maisy to live with us forever and as much as we would love to have her, I think Weaver would miss his sister very much. Thanks Ryan and Maggie for letting her spend the night!
