Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Meet Winnie our Golden Reterrier!

Her daddy was a golden retriever and her mom was a terrier! She is 7 weeks old and giving me a run for my money. Autumn is over the moon about her and that is why we got her. Autumn had been talking about a dog for months so we finally gave in. She is a cutie pie!

It's Been Awhile

Autumn is doing much better. Her siezures are down to about 3-5 a week. Which is a drastic improvement. And, they are almost solely isolated to when she is sleeping. (The best place to have a siezure is in a bed.) Thought I would post a few pictures of Autumn while she was in the hospital. The white bandage is covering all the little wires they had attached to her head for the EEG. She had that on for 4 days. She is my little trooper!

Update on Autumn

Well, yesterday was tough. Autumn had over 20 simple/complex partial seizures. They are not scary to watch, but they break our heart. Plus, they are emotionally draining. We ended up having to put her on another medication that helps her relax a little while the 1st medication builds up in her system (which can take up to 10 days.) Last night it took her over 2 hours to finally fall asleep because everytime she started to drift off she had a siezure and it woke her up. We want to thank all of you for your continued prayers. It means the world to us.

MRI Results

We got Autumn's MRI results back and the were NORMAL!!!!!!! This is very good news. She has continued having seizures, but they are called complex partial seizures ( I never knew how many kinds of seizures there were.) These are not nearly as scary as the grand mal she had on Friday. We are upping her medication to twice a day and just giving it time to build up in her system. Thank you all so much for your prayers and well wishes. It means more than you know. Updates when I have them.

Worst Weekend Ever

This was the worst weekend of my life. It all started Friday on the way to Chick-fil-a. Mike and i noticed/sensed that something was not right with Autumn. So we tried to get her to talk to us and she would not respond. We immediately pulled over and saw that she was having a seizure. I called 911 and the ambulance was there in no time. We told them what had happened and they agreed that it sounded like a seizure, so off to the ER they took us. Autumn went on to have 3 more seizures at the hospital. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened. Finally, they got in an IV and gave her medication to stop the seizures. We were admitted to the hospital and assigned a really great pediatric neurologist. She had an EEG on Saturday and the results came back with irregularities/abnormalities that would indicate future seizures. So Autumn is on a seizure medication and we need to lead a rather boring life for the rest of the week while the medication builds up in her system. She has to have an MRI which will give us more information. Right now we are home and Autumn is back to her normal self. I'll give more info as it comes. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Amy

Mike is Back from France

Well, Mike just got back from his France business trip. Boy, I am glad he is back. This was our first time being apart for that long in 7 years. He is adjusting to the time change okay. He had a good trip and got to spend a day in Paris. Unfortunately it was May Day in Paris and everything was closed. But, he did get to walk the city and enjoy all the architecture. Of course he had not had any sleep in a day, but he enjoyed it anyway. The time apart made me appreciate him a lot more. He means the world to me and I missed him terribly. I am very proud of all the great things he is accomplishing at Lockheed. I love him with all of my heart and I am so happy that he is back!

Pee-Pees on the Potty

Autumn has been great about sitting on the potty for awhile now. However, she just sits, nothing happens. Well, finally with the promise of a trip to Target to pick out a toy and Hi-5 music , she did it! Twice-on purpose! So, we went to Target and she picked out some dolls she's been eyeballing for a few weeks now. Daddy thought they were too expensive, but as you can see they now belong to her. We are very excited to be working our way to a diaper free household.

Midland, TX

We had a great time in Midland this weekend. It was nice to see Ryan's new church and their new house (which is ADORABLE!) Autumn even did a good job during the car ride and in the hotel. She was on her best behavior. We even got to stop in Abilene and see Mike's best friend, Kevin and his family. Good times!
